HISTORIE/DOCUMENTATIE
Deze legendarische Fastback begon zijn leven op 15 september 1966 in de Ford-fabriek in Metuchen, New Jersey (Verenigde Staten). In 2023 is hij geïmporteerd naar Nederland. In het verleden is de auto deels gerestaureerd en hierdoor verkeert hij in een goede staat, blijkt ook uit het taxatierapport uit 2023 waarin de auto als klasse 2 (zeer goed) wordt omschreven. Technisch is de Ford uitstekend onderhouden, waarvan vele facturen aanwezig zijn. Door een gespecialiseerd bedrijf is de Mustang uitvoering onder handen genomen waarbij diverse upgrades zijn uitgevoerd.
EXTERIEUR
De 1966 Fastback is waarschijnlijk de mooiste Mustang ooit gebouwd en wordt door veel liefhebbers geroemd. Dit is exemplaar is zeer fraai en stoer uitgevoerd: zwart lakwerk ('Raven') met witte racestrepen. Het lakwerk heeft een diepe glans en heeft slechts minimale gebruikerssporen. Velgen maken de auto, en dus zijn fraaie 15" 'American Racing' velgen gemonteerd. De passingen van de carrosserie zijn mooi en het chroomwerk verkeert in goede staat. De ramen rondom zijn getint. De voorruit is vernieuwd en voorzien van een zonnefilter.
INTERIEUR
Het zwarte Pony-interieur verkeert nog in goede staat. De bekleding is uitgevoerd in zwart skai-leer. De bestuurders kijkt uit over het kenmerkende houten/aluminium stuurwiel en diepe wijzertellers. Ook is er een 'rally pack gauge cluster set' geplaatst met een tachometer en klokje. De originele Ford radio is nog aanwezig. Het dashboard en de instrumenten verkeren in goede staat. Ook de paneel- en hemelbekleding en vloerbekleding verkeren in goede staat. De airconditioning is bijgevuld. interieur vormt een ideale combinatie van comfort, originaliteit en klassieke looks. Bovendien is de Mustang een 2+2, waardoor 4 personen kunnen genieten van de rijervaring van de Mustang.
TECHNISCH
Technisch verkeert de Mustang in topstaat: door een specialist is de auto grondig onder handen genomen. Naast reguliere onderhoudswerkzaamheden zijn bijna alle leidingen en slangen vernieuwd, diverse delen van de wielophangingen zijn vernieuwd, de schokdempers aan de achterzijde zijn vernieuwd, vloeistoffen en filters zijn vernieuwd en de verlichting is aangepast naar Europese regelgeving. De auto beschikt over stuur- en rembekrachtiging. De '289' 4.7-liter V8-motor levert 225 pk en loopt en klinkt fantastisch. Het uitlaatsysteem is vervangen door een op maat gemaakt systeem met chromen uiteinden. De banden zijn vernieuwd en zijn in goede staat. De automatische versnellingsbak schakelt soepel en naar behoren en het is een feest om met de Mustang te rijden.
ALGEMEEN
De Ford Mustang is waarschijnlijk de meest iconische auto ooit gebouwd, en werd gebouwd vanaf 1965. De eerste generatie werd gebouwd als traditionele coupé en cabriolet, maar ook als Fastback. Deze Fastback heeft een aflopende daklijn die doorloopt tot aan de achterkant van de auto, terwijl de coupé een meer traditionele, hoekige achterkant heeft met een kofferklep. De sportievere look van de fastback is de meest begeerde uitvoering en wordt gekenmerkt door zijn ventilatieopeningen achter de zijruiten, die onderdeel zijn van het 'silent-flow'-interieurventilatiesysteem. De auto accelereert in iets minder dan 8 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u en heeft een topsnelheid van ca. 193 km/u. De eerste generatie Mustang werd gebouwd tot 1973. HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
This legendary Fastback began its life on 15 September 1966 at the Ford factory in Metuchen, New Jersey (United States). It was imported to the Netherlands in 2023. The car has been partially restored in the past and is therefore in good condition, as evidenced by the 2023 valuation report, which describes the car as class 2 (very good). Technically, the Ford has been excellently maintained, as evidenced by the many invoices available. A specialist company has worked on the Mustang model, carrying out various upgrades.
EXTERIOR
The 1966 Fastback is probably the most beautiful Mustang ever built and is praised by many enthusiasts. This example is very attractive and has a bold design: black paintwork (“Raven”) with white racing stripes. The paintwork has a deep shine and shows only minimal signs of wear. The rims make the car, so attractive 15" “American Racing” rims have been fitted. The bodywork fits beautifully and the chrome is in good condition. The windows are tinted all round. The windscreen has been replaced and fitted with a sun filter.
INTERIOR
The black Pony interior is still in good condition. The upholstery is finished in black leatherette. The driver looks out over the distinctive wood/aluminium steering wheel and deep dials. A “rally pack gauge cluster set” with a tachometer and clock has also been installed. The original Ford radio is still present. The dashboard and instruments are in good condition. The panel and headliner upholstery and floor covering are also in good condition. The air conditioning has been refilled. The interior is an ideal combination of comfort, originality and classic looks. What's more, the Mustang is a 2+2, allowing four people to enjoy the Mustang driving experience.
TECHNICAL
Technically, the Mustang is in top condition: the car has been thoroughly overhauled by a specialist. In addition to regular maintenance work, almost all pipes and hoses have been replaced, various parts of the suspension have been renewed, the rear shock absorbers have been replaced, fluids and filters have been renewed and the lighting has been adapted to European regulations. The car has power steering and power brakes. The “289” 4.7-litre V8 engine delivers 225 hp and runs and sounds fantastic. The exhaust system has been replaced by a custom-made system with chrome tips. The tyres have been replaced and are in good condition. There is also a mass switch. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and properly, and the Mustang is a joy to drive.
